Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid details story mode

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid Story Mode

Hasbro fans and 90s kids are getting a real treat with the upcoming release of Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid, the newest project from nWay, who also worked on a mobile game Power Rangers: Legacy Wars.

The game itself appears to be a fully-fledged fighting game set in the original Power Rangers universe created by Saban. It follows a recently released storyline meant to celebrate more than 25 years of cheesy Power Rangers goodness. In an interview with DualShockers, Jesse Cherry, Senior Product Manager at Battle for the Grid developer nWay, said “Yes, there will be a story mode.”

nWay is now working with the new owners of the Power Rangers brand, Hasbro, to create this cool new title. Jesse Cherry also spoke positively of the relationship between the two. “They’ve been awesome at listening, asking questions, and letting us give them information,” Jesse told DualShockers.

That story will likely heavily rely on the Shattered Grid storylines, a release from Boom! Studios to commemorate the 25th anniversary that tells the story a generation hopping and time-travel plot to smash all of the different series in the franchise into one game. Think Injustice: Gods Among Us style gameplay with a campy Power Rangers story.

We don’t know much about the gameplay and story beyond that, and we also have no idea what characters will be playable, although we can at least assume that the most iconic first generation characters will be in the game.

If you want to know more about this title, you could take a look at the official site. You can also look down below and see the announcement trailer for the game. Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid will release in April 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, with a PC release coming later in 2019.
