Pokemon Sword & Shield’s The Crown Tundra Release Date

Isle of Armor DLC

The Crown Tundra release date has been revealed for the second expansion to Pokemon Sword & Shield. Gamers can get into the icy new biome with hundreds of new Pokemon soon. The main focus is on a snowy, mountain-themed area that features an expanded roster and some new gameplay mechanics for players to explore.

There are two big new features coming with a focus on both singleplayer and multiplayer modes. There’s a new Galarian Star Tournament, where you’ll be able to team up with a partner trainer, to take on another pair of players. This adds new Multi Battles options to give a new dimension to the various forms of PvP on the game. It appears as though there will be both singleplayer and multiplayer options in this expansion.

And yes, the Dynamax and Gigantamax Raids will be returning in this new expansion. And there’s even a new form of Raids coming too. There will be spawns for Legendary Pokemon that have appeared in previous entries in the franchise, so that’s great for collectors.

The release will also coincide with more rewards for long-term players a new Gigantamax Malmetal will be given to those that play the expansion and have an active Pokemon Home account. Just login to Pokemon Home to get the nice new Malmetal when launch day rolls around. The company also revealed that the ability to transfer from Pokemon Go into Pokemon Sword & Shield will finally be enabled before the end of 2020.
