Pokémon Sword & Shield players gifted with new Mystery Gifts

Pokémon Sword & Shield DLC

Pokémon Sword & Shield has been given a new set of Mystery Gift items. These special packs are meant to lure players back into the game ahead of the first DLC pack. As of right now, it’s more PokéBalls and other stuff. It’s a cool gift for new and returning players. The first Mystery Gift is a Hidden Ability Galarian Mr. Mime, with an Item Set consisting of a Lure Ball, Heavy Ball, Moon Ball and Dream Ball.

You can get these gift bundles now, and the first set will be available until May 28. Then, from May 29 to June 4, there will be another bundle of free junk. The second bundle includes a Galarian Ponyta and an Item Set of Level Ball, Fast Ball, Love Ball, Friend Ball and Beast Ball.  But that’s not all, as a couple more sets are coming too.

Galarian Corsola with an Evolution Item Set of Sweet Apple, Tart Apple, Chipped Pot, Cracked Pot, Whipped Dream, and Sachet will become available from June 5 to June 11. A Galarian Meowth will wrap up the Gifts. This reward will also have an Item Set of 50 Big Nugget and 100 EXP. Candy L. Lovely. That last Gift will come into the game from June 12.

Nintendo has said that these gifts are more meant to “prepare players for the Isle of Armor.” So it’s probably a good idea to save some of this stuff in your back pocket if you can. It does also mean that Isle of Armor is likey to launch soon, possibly in June 2020.

Isle of Armor is the first of two new DLC packs for Pokémon Sword & Shield. These two DLCs will expand the original roster of the base game by adding 200 additions from previous games. Players will also get to see an expanded story as well. After the player has become a legend in the Galar region, they will journey to a new area complete with all of the new Pokémon and plenty of new Trainers.

Isle of Armor will include a new Trainer by the name of Mustard, who will treat the player as an apprentice of sorts, as they take on the new challenges. There’s new Legendary Fighting-type Pokémon as well like Kubfu. To coincide with this, players will also take on a bunch of new Trainers specializing in Poison types, Psychics, and many others.

The final evolutions of the Galar starters, Rillaboom, Cinderace, and Inteleon, will also get their own Gigantamax forms with powerful G-Max moves. These new powerful forms aren’t the only power buffs. Gamers will also find that Apricorns and Tutor Moves have made a return to the series.

Pokémon Sword & Shield is out now for the Nintendo Switch.
