With the most recent Community Day event this past weekend having wrapped up on Sunday, Pokemon GO players are already excited for the next set of event focusing on more powerful variants of different Pokemon as a means of fostering cooperation and friendliness. And now we know what the next event in September will be. We also know when the following events will take place after that.
The upcoming September event will focus on the Generation 2 starter Grass-type Chikorita. Anyone who partakes in this new event will have the chance to catch tons of Chikoritas, as well as get bonuses to Evolutions with the Pokemon. It’s also been confirmed that Chikorita will have a unique move when caught during the event as well.
“Get out and play together in your local community parks on Pokémon GO Community Day. For just a few hours each month, you can encounter a special Pokémon in the wild. During these hours, there’s a chance to learn a previously unavailable move for that Pokémon or its evolution, as well as earn some Community Day bonuses. Celebrate what it means to be a part of the Pokémon GO community and make new friends along the way!”
And as with previous events, in addition to the increased spawn chances, players will enjoy 3-hour lures and a 3x XP bonus on catches for the duration of the event.
In addition to the announcements for the upcoming event, fans managed to uncover the dates for the next set of events. Fansite operators over at Serebii revealed that the next two Community Day events after September will take place on October 21st and November 10th respectively. Although sadly no details as to what the focus will be, nor do we know what bonuses will be available. Keep your eyes peeled for more details though.
Pokemon GO is currently available all across the globe on Android and iOS devices. September 22 will be a Chikorita Community Day within the mobile AR game.
