PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Surpasses 5 Million Players on Xbox One

At this point, everyone has played or at least heard of PlayerUnknown’s Battleground or PUBG. The battle royale third-person shooter burst onto the scene with a PC release in 2017. Built in Unreal Engine 4 by PUBG Corporation, a subsidiary of South Korean publisher Bluehole, the game immediately found success to due a perfect storm of great game design and excellent promotion. As of writing, it remains one of the more popular games being streamed on Twitch, at nearly 125,000 viewers overall.

Microsoft and PUBG Corp. have a new reason to celebrate as it was announced this week that the Xbox One version of the title had surpassed five million players.

Microsoft released a new trailer showing off a litany of highlights that players have experienced within PUBG. You can find the video below. If you want to join the 5 million strong already playing, you can purchase PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds for $29.99 on the Xbox marketplace or you can pick up the recent Xbox One S bundle that contains the game.

It will be interesting to see where PUBG goes from here. The devs have been great about updating the game across it’s platforms, and are clearly committed to creating a quality experience for gamers. Let’s hope for the best for PUBG.
