The original game in the PSO franchise was quite fun for the simple sci-fi MMO that it was. The game pushed the Dreamcast to new heights by bringing online multiplayer to the forefront for that console generation. It also helped spawn one of my personal favorite Xbox 360 title, Phantasy Star Universe. And now, the Xbox One gamers outside Japan will get a taste of the latest game in the legendary franchise. The upcoming Phantasy Star Online 2 closed beta has finally been detailed.
The beta will begin for Xbox One and Windows 10 next month. The festivities will begin on Friday, Feb. 7th, starting at 5PM PDT. The tests will be broken up into chunks with different testing periods for various quests within the game. Sega is doing this to keep the story and overall feel under wraps while they test things on the backend. The tests will run through a handful of different quests, before concluding on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 11:59PM PDT.

There’s even a special event taking place during the beta as well. There will be a special concert event taking place during the beta, featuring Quna, Oracle’s favorite music idol. The event will be occurring on Feb. 8th from 8 to 8:15PM PDT, including the songs “Our Fighting” and “Eternal Encore.”
Here’s how to access the upcoming closed beta for Phantasy Star Online 2. You’ll need to set up the Xbox Insider Hub on your Xbox One console or PC. The Phantasy Star Online 2 closed beta will be starting on Feb. 13th. The Insider Content in the “Games” tab of the Xbox One will display the game at the beginning of this date.
