Path of Exile rings in the new year by looking back at 2019

Path of Exile 2

The year is done for Path of Exile. The impending launch of Path of Exile 4.0 has a lot of people excited. Of course the recently released Conquerors of the Atlas expansion has people really hyped up as well. So to celebrate, developer Grinding Gear Games is taking their time to look back at 2019 and see what went right for the ARPG. The year was shockingly successful and packed with content. Read the full announcement here for all of the details, but here’s a quick recap.

Nearly 9 million players took part in the game over the course of 2019 via the various international servers. These players got to delve the depths of four expansions: Synthesis, Legion, Blight and Conquerors of the Atlas (with the Metamorph challenge league). The PS4 version of Path of Exile was also released. And for one more final bit of good celebratory news, Path of Exile set a new record for peak player counts in 2019 as well. And of course, the first ever ExileCon happened, setting new record for Path of Exile in Twitch viewers as well.

There’s another bonus today for hardcore fans too. The developer also took a look back at another recent addition to POE. Grinding Gear Games also published a handful of concept art pieces from the recently added Solaris Mystery Box. By blending lunar and solar themes, GGG created quite the interesting mix of MTX items in this loot box. Check out the concept art down below.
