Path of Exile launches in South Korea, and has a special end-of-Synthesis event

Glimmerwood Mystery Box

Path of Exile has had a heck of a few months. With the whirlwind of hype surrounding the 3.7 patch, players of this ARPG across the globe are very excited for the launch of Legion and the future of the game. Path of Exile previously finally launched it’s PS4 version after months of wait, and gamers were pretty excited. Now, another version of the game is finally here and GGG is breaking into one of the biggest gaming markets in the world.

That’s because South Korea is the latest country where a localization of the game is launching. Grinding Gear Games is partnering with publisher Kakao to release the translated version. Here’s the full announcement details from GGG:

In cooperation with Kakao Games, Path of Exile will officially launch in Korea alongside the Legion release next week. It features a full Korean translation and local servers inside Korea, while still being part of the main international Path of Exile server. Today we have enabled access for Korean gamers to start playing, in preparation for next week’s launch. More information, including the ability to link your Path of Exile account to your Kakao Games account, is available on http://poe.game.daum.net/

But that’s not all that Grinding Gear Games has in terms of POE news today. The developer has unveiled a special event to celebrate the end of Synthesis League. That’s another event featuring a free Mystery Box, a loot box containing cosmetic effects. Any player who spends Points will be gifted a free Mystery Box.

Players can spend as little as 5 Points and get a free Glimmerwood Mystery Box on their POE account. This will be the best change to get a cheap bit of cosmetics before the Glimmerwood box is replaced by the next box after the launch of Legion League.

And to coincide with this event the developer also is discounting a huge assortment of microtransactions by holding a 50 Point Sale, bringing the prices down on more than 200 items in the cash shop.

The Synthesis League and Synthesis Flashback Events on PC end next Monday, June 3rd at 3PM PDT. The patch notes for 3.7 and Legion will be released on June 5th. The PC version of Legion will launch on June 7th, followed by the console releases of the new content on June 10th.
