Path of Exile 3.6, more hideouts and divination cards, oh my!

Path of Exile 3.6 Synthesis League

With the launch of Path of Exile 3.6, and the attached Synthesis League, less than 2 weeks away, everyone is really excited. As such, the fine folks over at GGG have been putting out more and more previews and teases for new content coming with this newest expansion. And now, we’ve got even more new stuff to drool over.

Yesterday, we went over the spate of new Holy skills: Purifying Flame, Wave of Conviction and Divine Ire. Previously we covered other skills like Soulrend and Bane, as well as other hideouts.

Now, according to a new tease, we’ve got a pair of cool new hideouts which players can mix and match to create their ideal “house” in Wraeclast. And like all the other Hideouts added with the 3.5 expansion, these new tilesets will need to be encountered and cleared in game maps in order to be used by the player. Joining these two new hideouts in Synthesis League are other new sets like the snowy Alpine Hideout.

There’s the edgy and bloodsoaked Sanguine hideout, complete with blood effects, spooky candles and lighting, and plenty of terrifying looking accoutrements. It’s the ideal choice for anyone looking to scare the bejesus out of anyone they trade with.

The other hideout is more interesting to me personally, as it digs into the lore in Path of Exile. The Divided hideout takes elements of the Solaris and Lunaris temple maps and smashes them together, creating an interesting thematic dichotomy that I quite like. It really demonstrates how a simple recolor can actually work quite well to make a game feel more alive when steeped in storytelling.

You can take a look at the two new hideouts in the preview video down below.

But hold on, that’s not all the new content GGG had for us today.

Also launching with the bevy of other items in the upcoming patch is a new set of Divination Cards related to past league mechanics. For those that are unaware, Divination Cards are a collectable item in the game which have a unique effect when combined into a set and traded in. There are dozens of sets in the game, and tons of interesting rewards for collecting them. Effects range from stacks of currency and Rare items, to completely random Uniques and so much more.

Here’s the list of the new Divination Cards and their effects:

  • Alone in the Darkness – Unique Delve Item
  • The Journey – Harbinger’s Orb
  • The Messenger – Harbinger’s Fragment
  • Dark Temptation – Obliteration Unique Item

Path of Exile 3.6 is due to launch for PC and Xbox One on March 8th. The PS4 version of Path of Exile is due to launch later that month.
