Another major sponsor is on-board for the Overwatch League. Toyota has inked a deal with Blizzard as a major sponsor. A Twitter announcement confirmed the deal yesterday.

This latest deal should help Blizzard maximize profit for the major investment that is the Overwatch League. Not that they necessarily need a huge list of sponsors to accomplish profitability. More than 10 million people tuned in over the course of the first week of events for this season. If this viewership can be maintained, the League can potentially generate tens of millions of dollars easily.
In a statement, Major League Gaming CEO Pete Vlastelica also said that partners like Toyota are helping the Overwatch League organizer to “create a premium experience for players and fans.” Blizzard hasn’t disclosed exactly how much money the Toyota partnership is worth, but it’s safe to assume that it is a substantial figure.
This announcement comes on the heels of a $90 million exclusivity deal between Blizzard and Twitch guaranteed a high level of viewership for the League overall. With Twitch actively promoting streams, the new deal with Toyota will be all the more worthwhile. It’s also worth mentioning that other major companies have signed on as sponsors. HP and Intel partnered with Blizzard to provide the PC hardware for the League in another major deal.
Overwatch is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
