Outriders Delayed to April 1

Will Outriders crossplay be a thing?

Square Enix is not one to be left out of the gaming fun. Although this time, things are not so fun, as their new co-op shooter has been hit with a delay. Square Enix and People Can Fly have been working on the game for some time, and it has had a pretty rough 2020. Things don’t look to be quite letting up in 2021.

The delay was announced on Twitter by the Outriders team, which revealed that the game’s release date of February 2, 2021 has now been pushed back to April 1, 2021. The team has decided that they need more time for development and “fine tuning the game”. The delay is now the second one for the title in recent memory.

If you’re feeling down because of the delay, there is a small glimmer of good news. It turns out that a free demo for the game will be released in a bit. So let’s talk about that. This demo will include both single-player and co-op gameplay for the release version, helping the team to test things out.

The demo is set to come out next month, more than two months after the original release of the game was supposed to occur. The game was supposed to come out in December 2020, but was pushed back a bit the first time due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic causing many issues with development. The game had originally had a February 2 release date but has now been delayed another month.

The game is set to release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC.
