Bandai Namco has once again teamed up with Omega Force for another new anime/manga game. One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 is the resulting project.

The One Piece brand is a titan of the manga and anime genres, so it’s an easy choice to make games with. Going all the way back to the original manga release in 1997, the adventures of main character Luffy and the band of pirates he often pals around with. And with a total of 93 volumes there’s a ton of stuff to pull characters, locales and storyliness from.

The news was revealed at the Anime Expo 2019, the same place where the announced delay of Digimon Survive took place. The company also released a trailer for the game down below. Check out the trailer for the new anime-based game down below.

The game is being billed as a rehash of the source material. The game will cover many of the stories and arcs from One Piece,” according to Dualshockers. It will be very interesting to see what Bandai Namco has in store. And with multiple fighting titles done in the 3v3 style recently, it’s possible we could see another game in that genre built around this legendary property.

The game will feature both known and new locations from within the source material. One location we know of so far is Whole Cake Island, a land of themed around sweets of every kind.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 will release for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch in 2020. No firm release date is set, but you can bet Omega Force and Bandai Namco will have more news soon.
