No Man’s Sky update 2.3 adds Living Ship

NMS-AtlasRises1

No Man’s Sky was in a very rough state when it launched, with many being disappointed and being let down by the massive hype. The amount of promised features in the base game was absolutely shocking and led to many players wondering just what the heck this game was. Cut to launch, and things were missing, and what was there was very buggy. Developer Hello Games has been trying their best to deliver on the promise this game held, and the newest update, No Man’s Sky update 2.3, takes that next step.

As part of the effort Hello Games has made to deliver on the missing features the developer has been pretty consistent with pushing out new updates. The newest patch, builds off of the previous expansions to in-game factions and new ship types, to deliver something players have wanted for a while. The new patch, No Man’s Sky update 2.3, adds the new Starbirth questline which introduces a new Living Ship. This unique ship type is your reward for completing the new questlines and acquiring the alien Void Egg, which must then be grown into a new ship.

And speaking of alien technology, you will uncover a bunch more of it aside from the new Void Egg. New planet locations and new assets have allowed the type and variety of planets in the game to expand. Players will even uncover a bunch of new mini-quests surrounding alien ruins and the new Living Ships. While you’re exploring ruins and new locales, you could also encounter a few new friends. With No Man’s Sky update 2.3, you can take these new friends on adventures through the stars with you.

On the technical side, No Man’s Sky update 2.3 also includes a big batch of bug fixes, as well as tons of performance improvements. There’s optimization to memory, core processors, terrain generation and a bunch of tweaks to VR gameplay to make things run smoother.
