No Man’s Sky launching simultaneously for PC and PS4

Hello Games today announced that the Windows PC and PlayStation 4 versions of No Man’s Sky will be launched simultaneously. The upcoming ambitious project touts one of the largest game universe’s yet seen. No Man’s Sky is a space exploration adventure that Sony picked up as a console exclusive. The game was due to be launched in 2015, though Hello Games is not fixing a launch date.

Given the scale of No Man’s Sky, it’s possible that the game might be used to introduce an Early Access program for PlayStation 4. Xbox One has launched an Early Access program, and it’s something that Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida has mentioned as a potentially desirable offering.

With a lot of comparisons to the likes of Star Citizen and Elite: Dangerous, it will no doubt be an interesting competition between the three space sims. Especially since Elite announced it’s Xbox One launch.
