Nintendo Switch is now in stock at GameStop

Nintendo Switch

Sadly, the scalpers have been winning the war that many of us are fighting to find the Nintendo Switch. The console has exploded in popularity since its launch in 2017, and there has been a flurry of buyers trying to find one. Thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a production shortage for the console as well, making matters worse. And now the scalpers have come in, charging more than twice the price for the base console in some cases. We all hate scalpers, and no one should give these vultures their money.

So where the heck can you find a Nintendo Switch?

I bought a Switch for a family member recently and it was very much a stroke of luck to find one in stock at a local Target store, an hour away. So aside from waiting for weeks trying to get one without paying the ridiculous online premium, I finally got one and my niece was rather excited. But unless you want to relentlessly stalk online retailers and stock update sites waiting for one, there is a solution to getting a Switch console.

And that’s one that normally wouldn’t be too appealing, GameStop. Outside of Amazon, it seems GameStop has managed to nail down some fresh stock for both the base model console and the Switch Lite. The package deal they sell seems to go in and out of stock regularly, so get on it while you still can. As of writing ship dates for the bundle are listed around the end of August 2020, so they seem to still have some consoles in stock.
