newest game from STALKER devs is a 100-man battle royale game set in Chernobyl

Fear the Wolves Battle Royale

Fear the Wolves from Vostok Games will be hitting Early Access this summer. The newest game from Vostok Games, the veterans behind the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise is a new take on the overcrowded Battle Royale genre. Vostok are trying their hand at melding their past experiences with the massively popular genre. That melding is ever-present in the theme and setting of Fear the Wolves.

The game will drop you into a more apocalyptic version of Chernobyl. Players will have to battle their way toward an extraction chopper using scavenged and hand-made weapons of various types. Everything from a fire axe to an AK is up for grabs. Along the way, radioactive decay and other environmental hazards serve to up the danger level. Although a much bigger threat are the mutated beasts stalking the landscape. These beasts and their mutations can not only drain player resources, but can easily kill an unprepared combatant.

The game will first debut on PC by the end of the year, with a console release to follow. The game enters Early Access on Steam this Summer.

Check out the announcement trailer for the game, as well as an official blurb about the game, below. Expect more news about the game from E3 2018.

Fear the Wolves drops players, in squads or as lone wolves, into the oppressive environments of a radiation-ravaged Chernobyl. The classic Battle Royale mode forces them to fight to be the last man standing out of 100 fighters. Another intense and original game mode will also bring a fierce new twist to the genre.
