New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe was just revealed during today’s Nintendo Direct livestream. The game is a revamped and improved version of New Super Mario Bros. Wii U, complete with new levels, characters and other content.
The game will feature many new and returning characters in the mix. Mario, Luigi, and Toad are headlining the game, with new characters like Nabbit and Toadette joining in on the fun. These new characters will also have new gameplay mechanics associated with them. Nabbit is essentially invincible, at least to damage, and is a great character for much younger players. In all the game has a grand total of 164 levels for lots of platforming fun.
New Super Luigi U, the expansion for the original game, will also be included as a free bonus with this game as well. It’s Luigi in his first official starring for a major Mario game on the Switch, so fans should get hype.
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is scheduled to release next year on January 11, 2019 on Switch. Check out the trailer for the new game down below.
