New Rage 2 trailer shows how much of a maniac you can be with crazy weapons

Rage 2 Wasteland Superhero Trailer

Bethesda has released a new gameplay trailer for Rage 2 this week, one showing off just how insane some of the weapons, vehicles and other in-game goodies are. And since much of this game takes place in a Mad Max-esque post-apocalyptic waste, expect lots of nitrous-fueled insanity and stunts involving flaming and ultra-fast trucks. The trailer itself takes on a very tongue-in-cheek tone with plenty of neon-coated goofiness, which will hopefully make into the final game.

This new trailer shows how the player can take on the dangerous General Cross and lots of his mutant buddies. In addition to having enough small arms to wage war on the entire third world, the player has access to the most nuts garage ever. A whole stable of armored and armed vehicles, all moving at super-quick speeds, will allow the player to blast their way through legions of enemies. The trailer also demonstrates some quite creative weapons, like a really nasty looking boomerang that looks like it belongs in the Jeepers Creepers films.

If the final game brings some of this glitz and action to release, I can see fans being very happy.

Check out the new gameplay trailer down below, and you can be the judge of just how much of a superhero you can be in Rage 2. But if this new footage is any indication, things are going to get wacky and packed with nitro-powered mutants right from the get-go. Rage 2, co-developed by Avalanche and id Software, releases May 14 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

If you want to see more of Rage 2 in action, there’s plenty more insane gameplay where this new bit came from. There’s some gameplay from E3 2018. Id and Bethesda also released more gameplay showing the fast and brutal in-game combat as well, involving plenty of vehicular chaos. There was also a trailer showing the state of the action game in beta, and it looked pretty good.
