New mod brings Xenomorph Queen from Alien to Monster Hunter World

The PC modding scene has long been a source of wish-fulfillment, and now fans of Monster Hunter can pick up where the Predators have failed, taking on the greatest alien menace the galaxy has ever seen. A new mod for Monster Hunter World takes an already challenging fight and adds in the utterly terrifying Queen of a Xenomorph hive.

Modder ‘UberGrainy’ has released this mod that replaces Xeno’jiiva with the Xenomorph Queen from Alien. Let’s be real, ole’ Xeno was terrifying enough in its intended form, adding in the horror of a Xenomorph hive into the mix just makes me want to run screaming into the nearest closet

It’s just a simple model swap that retains much of the gameplay aspects of the original Xeno’jiiva fight, but the whole concept is still really cool. I for one can’t wait for the launch of Iceborne to see what else the modding community comes up with. If you’d like to see the mod in action, YouTuber Weiss Gaming has a video showing them and some friends taking this dangerous beast on. Check that out down below. The video uses Bloodborne music instead of the music intended with the mod to avoid copyright strikes, so expect a different soundtrack if you play around with the mod.

If you want to undertake this new quest it’s pretty simple to setup. All you have to do is download it from here and then unzip the archive of your choice (with folders) into “Steam\Steamapps\common\Monster Hunter World\” (or where you have installed Monster Hunter World). And that’s it. If you want to revert to the original, simply delete the mod files in the folders at: NativePC\wp\em\em105\
