Remnant: From the Ashes is a new shooter from Gunfire Games. The game puts a heavy focus on cooperative gameplay and rich, dynamic worlds.
Remnant: From the Ashes uses procedural generation to craft unique environments and change up enemy locations and pathing. The game itself looks really cools as well. There’s a definite Gears of War vibe to the gunplay, and the enemy designs are unique and interesting. Environments also look alive, at least in the sense that they’re varied and appealing to the eye.
Enemies will have varied and unique attacks and players will have to make use of environmental cover and fast reflexes to stay alive against the relentless onslaught of mutant monsters. One of the big draws from the marketing push is “adaptation”. Players can create their ideal character from a wide variety of cosmetic and gameplay systems, but the game’s AI will constantly try to outsmart you. So the players will need to change tactics and loadouts often in order to stay one step ahead.
Remnant will feature gear and weapon crafting, melee combat, and large-scale boss battles, so you won’t be spoiled for choice when it comes to picking a weapon with which to blast endless legions of mutated monsters to bits.
