Back in 2018, BioWare and Electronic Arts released a teaser trailer for the next Dragon Age game. That reveal during the Game Awards that year led to a bit of hype for the fans. It has been a bit stale since then in terms of news about the new Dragon Age game, but now, BioWare has something new to share, finally.
The new footage comes to us from the Gamescom 2020 Opening Live Event, giving us a peek into the next game. The franchise is going into an entirely new setting, with a much different cast of characters. The story itself is also very fitting for the cluster of craziness that is 2020. In their own words, BioWare describes the game as “a story about what happens when you don’t have power, when the people in charge aren’t willing to address the issues.” BioWare and the Dragon Age franchise haven’t really shied away from taking on these stories before, but the scope feels very different somehow.
The footage shown off is very much a Work In Progress, so don’t expect too much detail or polish. But there is something else we can glean from the reveal. It’s pretty safe to say that the game will feature some very stunning visuals and will be a likely next-gen exclusive. So if you’re a fan of the franchise, this is probably pretty exciting for you.
