New AO Tennis 2 trailer details content editor and more

AO Tennis 2

The developer and publisher behind AO Tennis 2, Big Ant Studios and Big Ben Interactive respectively, have just released a new trailer for the upcoming sports title. The sports title features tons of different game modes, locales, and a fairly accurate simulation of the sport but, fans want more. So now, the developers have revealed a new toolset to help fill that need.

AO Tennis 2 is getting a content editor, and it’s pretty sweet. The game is not only focusing on pushing sports and tennis in particular to a new level for the fans in gaming, the developer is hoping that the fans will help get it there. The game will already include a mess of different detailed simulation elements that will aid players in realizing their dreams of becoming tennis stars, along with the immersive story mode, but the development team want to put a lot of power in the hands of the players to expand this functionality. To that end, Big Ant have made available a full set of modding tools, as well as an in-game suite of customization options to allow players to further tweak things.

So what kinds of things can players tweak? Just about everything is the answer. Players will be able to customize the look of your player of course, but these tools cover so much more. The playerbase is given access to the full pool of in-game assets, allowing complete customization of arenas, players and more. AO Tennis 2 will also allow players to create custom scenarios and match types too, allowing for what essentially a custom game mode creation suite.

All of the custom content will be shareable online, likely via Steam Workshop on PC, although there’s more. Players will be able to connect to a central repository regardless of platform and download any content they want. So yes, anything created using these tools can be shared cross-platform.

AO Tennis 2 is planned for release on January 9, 2020. It will launch on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.  Those interested can enjoy the new trailer down below.
