Necromunda: Underhive Wars PC System Requirements

Necromunda: Underhive Wars

Necromunda, the legendarily dangerous world of the Warhammer 40K is not somewhere you would want to visit.  Being laden with mutants and all manner of dangerous weirdos, the Hive world is the worst place you can possibly go short of some Tyranid-infested hellscape.  Rogue Company has worked with Focus Home Interactive to bring the Hive planet to life in a new video game, Necromunda: Underhive Wars.

Necromunda: Underhive Wars will feature tactical combat between roaming gangs and the criminal forces of the  Escher, Goliath, and Orlock houses, all locked in a brutal struggle for dominance. Expect tons of gore, lots of shooting, and plenty of Warhammer goofiness. If you’re a PC gamer and that sounds like your mutated cup of tea, I’ve got good news. The Necromunda: Underhive Wars PC system requirements have been released.

So let’s dive into what kind of gear your PC needs to tame this beast.

Minimum

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-3450 / AMD FX-6300
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: 2 GB VRAM, GeForce GTX 660 / Radeon R9 270
  • Additional Notes: 30 FPS in 1920×1080 Low preset.

Overall, it’s very helpful to see the developers list the expected performance for the specs. This is something I wish more developers did, as it would help users determine if their hardware is really up to the task of running a new game.

Necromunda: Underhive Wars can run on lower-end hardware like the aging FX-era from AMD, or the equally old Ivy Bridge CPUs from Intel, but you won’t have a very good time. The 30 FPS on the lowest graphical settings won’t be stable either. If you’re still running these kinds of parts and have the option, it’s very much time to upgrade. And with the reveal of the 3000-series NVIDIA GPUs, the prices for 2000-series cards have dropped thanks to a glut in supply.

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-6600 / AMD Ryzen 3 1200
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: 4 GB VRAM, GeForce GTX 970 / Radeon RX 580
  • Additional Notes: 60 FPS in 1920×1080 High preset.

Now, let’s move on to the more reasonable modern config. If you have a relatively recent GPU and CPU, say made in the last 3 years, you will be more than fine for 1080p gaming. You may not be able to crank the settings all the way up though. But at medium to high, you can easily get 60 FPS pretty reliably with even a first-gen Ryzen or decent Skylake CPU.

So if you can run this game, check it out in the trailer below to see if it’s a fit for you.
