Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord showcases Campaign in new trailer

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord Campaign Trailer

Taleworlds Entertainment has released a new gameplay trailer of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord for Gamescom 2018.

If you’ve played the previous games in the franchise, you pretty much know what to expect here. Being that Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is an open-ending melding of strategy and RPG elements, you’ll be taking the mantle of a feudal lord in a fantasy land rife with suffering and warfare. It’s then up to you to mark out your own path with nothing but the weapon in your hand. All the typical gameplay elements from the original game are here. You can visit taverns, fight in tourneys, build character relationships, and of course partake in bloody battles with hundreds of fighters at your back.

As we see from the trailer, the visuals have gotten a massive upgrade. The campaign map in this game looks a heck of a lot better than the drab and muddy looking one from the first game. In-battle visuals and performance have also gotten a big step up. Environments, character models and animations all look much more pleasing to the eye. Longtime fans will no doubt enjoy these improvements, assuming they can keep throwing hundreds of warriors into gory battles with relative ease.

The various gameplay elements are also getting a fresh coat of paint. Combat and inventory management are much more fluid and easy to grasp, but retain that layer of realism that fans are sure to enjoy.
