Mortal Kombat 11 Final Kombat tournament will debut Spawn

If you’re a fighting game fan, March 2020 is about to be a pretty big month for you. With the Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition coming up, there’s some big news brewing for both FGC members and fans of a certain dark and brooding comic book icon. The tournament will hold an official reveal of one of the most iconic comic book anti-heroes, Todd McFarlane’s Spawn.

Seeing Spawn in Mortal Kombat is something fans of the comics have wanted for a long time. Spawn has been around for a long time and really exploded in popularity following the grimdark 90’s era popularity of the comics, toys, and film based on the character. And now, it looks like the next DLC character for Mortal Kombat 11 will be none other than this particular hellion.

Going back to the Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition, players can expect a lot of big competition coming out of Chicago this year. The event will run on Mar. 7 and 8. The Last Chance Qualifier will also be held during this event. The actual Final Kombat pro tournament will be held on the second day. There’s a $100,000 prize pool on the line here, so everyone who is a fan of Mortal Kombat 11 will want to get in on the action.

Various voice actors, industry legends and iconic folks will be attending the event in Chicago. Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawi will be there, that’s the actor behind sorceror Shang Tsung in the 1995 film and of course Mortal Kombat 11. Series co-creator Ed Boon will also be in attendance. Finally, Keith David and Todd McFarlane will also be there to help promote the new collaboration.

Those interested in attending can get tickets on the Eventbrite page. Some elements of the event, including gameplay will likely be streamed on NetherRealm’s Twitch.
