Mortal Kombat 11 drops another roster addition, D’Vorah

Mortal Kombat 11 D'Vorah Revealed

Earlier today NetherRealm Studios revealed a bunch of new roster additions to their upcoming fighting title, Mortal Kombat 11, on the newest edition of Inside Xbox. First up was the masked member of the Black Dragon clan, Kabal, and now there’s another fighter being announced. This time it’s the insectoid D’Vorah.

There was no gameplay shown of D’Vorah in the new trailers, but we did get a glimpse of her new look which looks even more insect-like than her original getup from MKX.

D’Vorah is a newer addition to the franchise, only recently appearing in Mortal Kombat X. Her design is clearly inspired by many different species of insect, even her combat abilities draw on this motif. She has living hives and colonies of bugs in her own body which she often uses in combat in some very inventive ways.

Her backstory reveals a bit of a conflicted but nonetheless evil character. D’Vorah is a Kytinn, a species of colonial insects living inside humanoid bodies. Hailing from the Arnyek islands, D’Vorah’s realm was conquered by Shao Kahn and she chose to serve the emperor to avoid becoming a slave.

In other news, good news actually, NetherRealm is currently looking to add cross-platform play to their latest game. There’s also a kool Kollector’s Edition of the game, including a really great Scorpion mask as a bonus. Another interesting aspect of the game is that various characters are getting regional skins. Kano will have a skin exclusive to Brazil for example.

Mortal Kombat 11 will launch on on April 23 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch. We’ve included both the reveal trailer and some gameplay footage of D’Vorah down below, if you want to take a look at that.
