Mortal Kombat 11 announced at The Game Awards

Mortal Kombat 11 Announced

Ed Boon, yes that one, was on hand at The Game Awards 2018 to tell fans about a little surprise that NetherRealm has been working on. Some fans got a little blindsided, but are nonetheless excited about the announcement of the latest game in the Mortal Kombat franchise, Mortal Kombat 11.

Mortal Kombat 11 will apparently share a lot of similarities in terms of gameplay with NetherRealms other projects, like Injustice 2. For example, the game is getting a full custom character suite which in the words of Ed Boon, “The all new Custom Character Variations gives you unprecedented control to customize the fighters and make them your own.”

The game will also feature a full rework of the graphics engine, giving us a fighting game that shows spines being ripped out in all that bloody and high fidelity goodness. Ed Boon had the following to say about the look of the upcoming fighting game:

The new graphics engine showcasing every skull-shattering, eye-popping moment, brings you so close to the fight you can feel it. And featuring a roster of new and returning Klassic Fighters, Mortal Kombat’s best in class cinematic story mode continues the epic saga over 25 years in the making.

So if you wanted to see your favorite MK heroes get their bodies blown and punched to bits in stunning detail, now is your chance.

Check out the bloody and violent trailer for this new fighting game down below. Mortal Kombat 11 will launch April 23, 2019. Also, NetherRealm is planning to release more info on January 17, so come on back around that time as we’ll be digging into that.
