Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX: How To Unlock Worm, Henger, Gali, And Mew

Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX

Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX are out this week, bringing the classics back after 20 years. They’re full remasters of the classic PS1 games, with a few new things thrown in. Anyone who remembers these classic games will remember the chasing of CDs to find certain monsters. The developers of Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX have eliminated this process with a new selection and online experience.

So how do you get more monsters? Other than the Market, head to the Shrine. Koei Tecmo has put in a searchable database and randomization function. You must search for an artist and then album name. The game has a very limited selection. Also, you have to progress in the game to unlock higher-grade monsters. Some of the best monsters in the game are found in the higher ranks. Once you can get access to B-rank monsters and above from the digital library, there’s a lot of variety to be had. Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX includes the likes of Worm, Henger, Gali, And Mew, but you need to unlock them.

How To Unlock Worm, Henger, Gali, And Mew

In Monster Rancher 2, monsters are locked if you haven’t made enough in-game progress. This means you need to beat certain tournaments first. You can actually unlock these monsters from the starter that you pick. You need to be able to make it through D-rank tournaments. There’s a process to this. You need to take part in, and win, tournaments on the right days.

  • First, achieve Rank D by winning the IMa Official Cup (E). This takes place on the  4th week of June.
  • A month later on the 4th week of July, you will also need to win the Elimination Grade (D) tournament.
  • After winning this match, you will get invited to the IMa-FIMBA Meet for your rank. This is the top-tier tournament for each rank. The difference here is that you are part of a team. Either you need to win your personal match, or your AI team needs to win the tournament. Doing that will get your unlocks.

Keep in mind, the IMa-FIMBA Meet is held every four years. You need to try and get into it the first year, otherwise you have a lot of work ahead of you.
