Monster Hunter World: Iceborne PS4 Beta Dates

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne New Tracking Ability

Capcom has finally announced more information about the upcoming expansion to Monster Hunter World, Iceborne. Players on the PS4 will get a shot at hunting a few new monsters in a couple of beta tests later this Summer. The expansion is due this September for PS4 and Xbox One, but Capcom wants to give fans a little more time to get ready for the Master Rank challenge the new content will bring onboard.

The beta will be broken up into multiple phases, with the first one being exclusive to PS+ members. This first beta will kick off this Friday, June 21, at 3am PDT, and it will conclude on Monday, June 24, at 3am PDT. Anyone on PS4 with an active PlayStation Plus subscription can take part in this segment of the test.

The cool thing about this second phase of the beta is that it’s open to all PlayStation 4 players, regardless of whether they’re PS+. Also, you don’t need a copy of the base game to take part, as the beta is a standalone download. This second Monster Hunter World: Iceborne PS4 beta will take place from Friday, June 28 at 3am PDT to Monday, July 1 at 3am PDT.

The beta itself will consist of a handful of different hunts in the new Hoarfrost Reach region of Iceborne. The first hunt will be a Great Jargas hunt, with the other two having to do with two new monsters introduced in the expansion. The MHW Iceborne beta will also include all 14 of the weapons that will be in the full expansion, giving players a chance to try them out. Players will also get to try out some of the new tools in their arsenal as well.

We can now confirm that the other two monsters introduced in this beta will be Banbaro, a new addition to the massive roster of beasts coming with the expansion. The other new inclusion for MHW is Tigrex, a lethal foe first introduced in Monster Hunter Freedom 2.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne launches on September 6, 2019 for PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC release to follow in 2020.
