Monster Hunter: World Iceborne Getting Stygian Zinogre

Iceborne Stygian Zinogre

Monster Hunter: World Iceborne has another new patch this weekend, in the second free update for the expansion. Capcom just released a new trailer of Monster Hunter: World’s expansion Iceborne showcasing a fearsome new beast, Stygian Zinogre. The Stygian Zinogre originally appeared in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, and went on to appear in other titles. The bad boy appeared in MH4 and MH4 Ultimate, as well as Online.

Monster Hunter: World Iceborne launched worldwide for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6. The Steam version will be released in January. In its first month of release, the Iceborne expansion shifted nearly 3 million units, which makes it one of the best-selling single entries in the franchise.

The game brought an entirely new zone complete with a bunch of new monsters and mechanics. Hunters are tasked with taking on new mutations in the Hoarfrost Reach, a snowy biome stuffed to the gills with new and returning monsters, much to the delight of fans. Players were able to even the odds with a bunch of new tools and weapons, as well as an entirely new class of Master Rank gear.

The base game sold more than 14 million units prior to the launch of the expansion. Capcom has made it a habit to consistently push new quests and tons of in-game events of MHW, constantly challenging hunters. The peak of the base game was the repeatable phased quest that was Kulve Taroth and his Arch-Tempered form. Since then, the trend has continue with Iceborne.

With this patch, there’s a new tundra region in the Guiding Lands, where players will find their new quarry. Stygian Zinogre joins the fray with a rather angry looking visage, complete with menacing red lightning. Check him out in the trailer below.
