Monster Hunter World: Iceborne adds new tracking ability

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne New Tracking Ability

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is coming up on its release rather quickly, and with the launch of the new expansion, hunters can expect a bevy of new features and altered content to await them in the lands of Astera. And this expansion goes far beyond new monsters, locales and basic tools.

Aside from the obvious content like new and returning monsters to hunt in new Master Rank missions, players will get to explore and utilize some quality-of-life improvements like the new Raider Ride. This new addition allows hunters to call in an animal companion they can then use to take a quick ride right to the monster of their choice. The Raider Ride is a welcome change for those who want to rush a hunt on the 500th time they take down a large foe.

As someone who has had to farm many a new item component from the likes of Anjanath for building new weapons, this Raider Ride ability will absolutely save hours across multiple hunts. Gone are the days of having to chase scout flies for five minutes in every single hunt.

But don’t get it twisted, there’s lost of that other stuff too in Iceborne. As gamers and fans saw from the E3 2019 gameplay demo, there’s a bunch of new tools in the kit for those exploring the Hoarfrost Reach.  The Clutch Claw is a great new mobility option that can be used in a pinch to get a quick mount when DPS and a stun is crucial for finishing a hunt. Another new item, the  Flinch Shot, even allows players to force monsters to move in certain ways, potentially useful for steering quarry into a waiting trap.

Iceborne takes players to the frozen Hoarfrost Reach when it launches for PS4 and Xbox One on September 6, 2019. A PC release will follow this Winter.
