Monster Hunter World first all-platforms title update is almost here

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne 13.5

Since the launch of Monster Hunter World a couple of years ago, PC and console players have been fairly separated. Not only were the players themselves excluded from cross-platform play, but the updates and releases of patches and new content were also staggered with Capcom favoring console players before PC gamers. This decision made sense, as the Monster Hunter team had never worked on PC games before, and optimization was a huge issue. Now though, that looks to have changed as Capcom has finally prepared the first all-platforms title update to Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. This was a change teased around the launch of the expansion, and it has finally come to pass.

The first all-platforms title update to Monster Hunter World: Iceborne brings with it two new boss battles for all players to take on. The Hunting Grounds are the focus of this first title update that will hit both console and PC on the same day. Capcom added the zone in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne bringing a new twist on the idea of the battle arena from the base game.

The first of the two bosses to come to the battlefield is none other than the legendary Kulve Taroth. The previous target of the Siege endgame missions in the base game is back, in a whole new form. Master Rank Kulve Taroth is a much tougher, although a bit simpler to fight, variant of the Golden Empress. She returns with a new coat of gold and a chip on her shoulder. Can you take her down?

And if you wanted more challenge, a new event is headed to the game as well, with Arch-Tempered Namielle in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. Arch-Tempered Namielle will only be available for a limited time as an Event Quest, although modders will likely enable the spawn on PC as a permanent thing, assuming Capcom doesn’t get in the way.

Taking on both these new monsters offers new gear rewards, assuming you can take them down.

The patch bringing both Arch-Tempered Namielle and Master Rank Kulve Taroth drops on April 23 for all platforms, bringing the game to version 13.5.0. The all-platforms title update will also bring out some new paid cosmetics for pendants and hairstyles, if that’s your kind of thing.
