Minecraft Dungeons release date revealed
During X019, there are some games we all expected to hear about. One of them we all knew was coming was Minecraft. The massive cash-cow build by Mojang years ago has continued gain popularity through a variety of innovations and new content. One of the more surprising reveals for the adventure franchise though was Minecraft Dungeons, a new RPG-like experience aimed at fans of the block-based adventure. We didn’t expect some of the other announcements today out of London. New IPs from Rare and Dontnod offer a whimsical glimpse into new worlds. Sega and Square Enix are bringing classic franchises to a new venue, and everyone is very pumped up about everything Microsoft has to offer.
But let’s get back to Minecraft Dungeons. The gameplay loop is all about adventuring as any fan of the franchise will know, but this game is making things much more complex. Players can delve deep into the dangerous locales of the worlds and dimensions of Minecraft lore in search of wondrous loot.
This distillation of the Minecraft formula into a more closed loop gaming experience is a collaborative effort between Mojang and Double Eleven. Their goal is pretty simple, give fans a new adventure to go on. If you’re looking to hop back into Minecraft, this could be the golden ticket you’re looking for. So if you’ve ever wanted to see just how many creepers it would take to bring an adventuring party down in an RPG setting, this is your ideal video game.
To go with said announcement, Microsoft also dropped a trailer, check it out down below. Minecraft Dungeons releases n April 2020 for Xbox One. And yes, the game will be part of the Game Pass program. And also yes, other versions for the PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch are coming too.
