Minecraft Caves and Cliffs Part 2 is finally almost here. The update will be rolled into the Minecraft 1.18 release, bringing several new elements to the adventure game. During the recent Minecraft Live 2021 reveal, multiple bits of news were announced. The biggest headline was about the free update bringing a new version of the game.
The free update will introduce new gameplay mechanics, blocks and biomes, mobs and so much more. And speaking of mobs, the winner of the new mob fan vote was the Allay. This and more will be bundled into the Wild update when 1.18 releases. Launching alongside the Wild Update will be the Deep Dark biome and the hostile Warden mob.
The release date for Minecraft 1.18 has yet to be revealed, but has been expected before the end of this year.
A ton of new cave and aboveground biomes are the focus here, with the two updates adding various options. The new snow-covered and mountain biomes add new looks and a slew of new items. Players will be able to hunt for animals like goats and rabbits in some areas, with other mountainous biomes holding flowers like cornflowers and dandelions. The caves part of these patches also include several below ground updates as well. Added to all this is the mix of fixes and adjustments to mob spawns, as well as other mechanics.
The Caves and Cliffs update was initially planned as one large patch, but Mojang decided to break things up. This change into two separate updates gave developers a bit more time to polish and add new features. The first part was released in June this year, and the team has been working on this for some time, so fans are expecting greatness.
