Microsoft Flight Simulator Patch 1.8.3.0 fixes performance and bugs

New Flight Simulator patch set to go live in a week

Microsoft Flight Simulator has had some performance issues since launch. Despite being a beautiful flight sim with tons of planes and options, there were some problems. Players had some difficulty rendering some of the many photorealistic cities in the game without sacrificing framerate or settings. Even on the best hardware, things were a bit rocky. Microsoft Flight Simulator Patch 1.8.3.0 aims to fix some more of those problems.

The game has gotten a few patches aimed at fixing performance since then though, so that’s good. The following performance improvements were made in the most recent Microsoft Flight Simulator Patch 1.8.3.0:

The aim of this most recent patch, which included many more fixes and adjustments than the above, was to “address many of the « in-sim » issues reported by the community,” said the official patch notes. A few general improvements for immersion and Quality of Life were also included. Now the ATC voice will match the gender of the pilot/copilot. Filters and sorting have been improved in the marketplace for instance. There’s also a new active pause button that’s more accessible.

Multiple fixes and optimizations are included for the following planes: Airbus A320neo, Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental, Cessna, GNS 530, G1000 and many more. Players noted a variety of issues with these planes which needed attention. A bunch of these planes had issues in certain setups or graphical modes that meant avionics were not always accurate. Cockpit visuals for a variety of planes, including a handful of crash bugs, were also adjusted or fixed, depending on the situation.

As always, Steam and Microsoft Store will download this update when you next start up the relevant launcher. you can find the complete changelog here
