The system requirements for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 have been released, and revealed some very interesting differences across three different tiers of graphics and overall performance. Instead of the usual two strata for specs as with many other PC games, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 goes a step beyond and has an ‘ideal’ classification as well.
The incision of the higher tier of system requirements is pretty wild, and definitely on the top edge of most consumer-grade hardware. Having an RTX 2080 / Radeon VII and 32GB RAM in 2020 in your gaming machine would definitely be towards the higher-end. With all the new features and improved visuals in the game this year, it kind of makes sense though.
The game is also bringing in a very robust multiplayer mode that allows tons of players to engage in flight sim fun all on one server. The new version of the game can support dozens of players all at the same time by simply controlling rendering around each player to a certain threshold. The developers detailed some of this in a recent gameplay video for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. This, in particular, explains that te need for bandwidth requirements, as more complex graphics require more input from the server.
