Classic stealth games Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater are being added to the roster of backwards compatible games on the Xbox One. This means that you can enjoy arguably some of the best stealth games ever made on a new platform.
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty is probably, OK definitely, the most-disliked of the two games in this set, mostly because people hated the way the transition to Raiden was handled. The game does have some good boss battles, though it overall pales in comparison to the third mainline game. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is much better game according to most fans, both from gameplay and narrative perspectives. A sentiment I tend to agree with because the bossfights with The End and The Sorrow are incredible, but even those don’t come close to the significance of the final encounter with The Boss.
Alright, enough gushing, how can you enjoy these awesome games on Xbox One? You can get the games as part of the Metal Gear Solid HD Edition from 2012. These can be downloaded from the Microsoft Marketplace or run via the disc if you have a copy.
