Today, Nintendo announced that Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! players will have the option of challenging Master Trainers. Defeating these incredibly tough Trainers will allow you to claim their title and become the very best that there ever was.
These Master Trainers unlock after the player defeats all of the Elite Four, unlocking these true champions. These tough fights are a significant increase in difficulty unto themselves as well. Battles with them are 1v1, and no item usage is allowed. Their Pokémon also have abnormal move lists that mean it’s harder to guess their type coverage. Overall, even hardcore fans might find a bit of challenge in these tougher encounters.
Defeating one of these Master Trainers allows a player to claim their title. That title can then be showcased in Link Battles to other players, the ultimate goal being to collect them all and demonstrate your dominance.
But these strong Trainers aren’t the only challenges that lie within Pokemon Let’s Go. There’s catching tons of Legendary Pokémon too. There’s the super-powerful experiment Mewtwo, as well as others like the strange new Meltan that has it’s own unique spawn requirements, and can then be encountered and caught in Pokémon Go. There are of course the three iconic Birds, Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno out there to capture as well. Fans can also expect to see their favorite duo of bumbling, but lovable Team Rocket members, Jesse and James in the game as well.
