Rupees in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity are very important. You will need a lot of them. if you don’t want to farm for levels or various items, you can pay the currency to skip some of the grinds. You can jump ahead if you manage to get enough of the currency. THe problem lies in actually getting them in a vast amount. There’s no easy way yet to farm or exploit this, although we’re keeping an eye out for that. There are some basic tips to keep in mind when farming Rupees in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
Repeat missions as much as you can
Pushing through the story and its 7 acts will be the first thing you want to do. Before you can focus on unlocking more powerful levels or new characters, which is where your Rupees get spent, you will ned to make it through the game. As you level up more characters and unlock new abilities, playing back through old missions can be great for farming. You won’t get any major bonuses though, it’s really just a matter of slogging through the old quests.
Sell all your old gear and weapons
You won’t keep using the same stuff throughout the entire game, You will have tons of older weapons, monster parts and more that you won’t need. You will also have an excess of old materials for upgrading weapons and characters you don’t use. These can be sold for a nice stock of Rupees. Be careful though, early in the game this can be kind of a trap. But as you’re grinding out old missions, you will get tons of weapons and gear you have no use for, sell these.
Sell excess gear and materials to the right merchants
There are many different stores in the game. You will unlock some of them through the story, but you will need to unlock as many as you can. Each merchant has gear and loot that they specialize in. When you’re visiting a store in-game, check their listing for the small star icon next to a category in the sale menu. This star icon denotes a class of items that this merchant will pay more Rupees for. You can earn plenty of extra cash by selling monster parts and other loot to these specialized merchants for extra money.
Do any and all side quests
Side quests are very important for the progression in the game, but also for a variety of other unlocks. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will throw a ton of these at you during your time with it, do them when they come up. Some will ask you to hand over rare resources, others ask you to take on certain enemies. Each time you complete one, you will get a few different rewards, many of these will also include materials as rewards.
