Mafia Definitive Edition will have an expanded story and more

Will there be a physical release for Mafia: Trilogy

Mafia Definitive Edition has been announced as a full remaster of the original game in the series, in the works with Hangar 13. The remaster takes all of the older content and story from the classic first Mafia game and refreshes it. And now we know more about how the developer plans to do that thanks to some new information. According to the publisher, this Mafia remake will expand its story to give insights into characters we only got to glimpse in the original game. Hangar 13 has now revealed some interesting new details today which shed light on what this remaster will look like to fans.

Furthermore, Mafia: Definitive Edition will feature a larger Lost Heaven to explore, mostly by adding in new locations and quests. And it even seems like there’s some new characters and factions running around that map too. The larger map will also include motorcycles as a new vehicle type. And for you completionists, there are even collectibles to seek out all over the place.

And yes, it has been confirmed that the remaster will be included in Mafia: Trilogy. This bundle will include the original versions of Mafia II and Mafia III, as well as the remaster. This version of the bundle will be the de facto collection for the franchise, and it’s a great deal if you’re a fan. The bad news is that it apparently won’t be getting a physical release in the Americas.

Hangar 13 President and CCO Haden Blackman, said:

“The original Mafia made such a lasting impact on how video games can tell serious stories. And we know how much the series fans still revere it. Nearly 20 years after, we now have an opportunity to introduce this beloved game to a new generation of players. We can also give longtime fans a chance to relive Tommy’s story with a stellar modern presentation and new story elements and gameplay features.”

Fans who are curious can expect more news soon. The publisher 2K has said that there are plans to reveal more about the remaster during the PC Gaming Show. That takes place on June 6th, so expect more then. Until that time though, you can tide yourself over by checking out the teaser trailer for the game down below.
