Luigi’s Mansion 3 coming to Switch on Halloween

Luigi's Mansion 3

Earlier today though, Nintendo had some more news about the Switch, and it’s news that is sure to excite those looking for a niche title about a certain green hat wearing plumber. Luigi returns for another campy horror adventure with Luigi’s Mansion 3. And now, we finally know when the next mainline game in the GameCube-spawned series will finally come out.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about this particular video game, being that the last time we saw Luigi was a short gameplay snippet from E3 2019. Speaking of, you can see said gameplay down below. But let’s recap for those that might not know, Luigi is kind of a coward, and now he’s been trapped in the haunted Last Resort hotel, and has to find a way out.

Luckily he has some help from a goo-based doppelgänger called Gooigi. Good old Gooigi served as the second player in the 3DS version o Luigi’s Mansion, and now he’s back in this Switch sequel to help Luigi out of a jam.

The game takes the setup from the older titles, like the first GameCube title, and the most recent game of 2013’s Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon on 3DS, and pushes it into a new era. For one thing, the visuals have been completely redone, offering a much sharper and more appealing look. So all spooky spooks will be more vibrant when they scare the daylights out of you.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 will also feature co-op too. Players can team up with a friend, playing Gooigi, to investigate the haunted locales. There’s even an 8-player mode which will allow up to 8 people to play the game, either locally or online.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 will be releasing on Nintendo Switch this Halloween.
