League of Legends kicks off 2019 Ranked season with new trailer

League of Legends 2019 Season Begins

With the release of a brand new cinematic trailer, Riot Games wants you to join in on the celebration for kicking off the newest season of competitive play in League of Legends. And they’re doing it in style with a masterful bit of melding animation and music.

The trailer itself is just plain wonderful. The track itself is called Awaken and is a wonderful composition that’s really catchy even absent the trailer. It also meshes really well with the somewhat ominous tone of the on-screen action. There’s also some top-tier animation, as is expected from these types of trailers from Riot. It’s so good that many fans are asking where they can get the song on it’s own. Turns out that Riot knew exactly what they were doing because the track will end up on Spotify tomorrow. “Awaken” features the vocal talents of Valerie Broussard, in case you were wondering.

League of Legends is still one of the most popular MOBA titles out there right now. And with Riot gearing up to launch Season Nine  on January 23rd, things are only going to get better.

And for those of wondering how progress and rankings will fair when the new season kicks off, you will not decay from your rank during preseason and honor will reset at season start. You can still earn honor until everything resets in 9.2, although rewards are currently already locked in.
