Bandai Namco has another new gameplay trailer on the prowl, and this one gets bloody. This one shows off the deadly Great Sword, one of several weapons you can equip throughout the adventure. The Great Sword is a two handed weapon, making it slower and harder to effectively fight faster foes. But what it lacks in speed it more than compensates for in raw damage, with the ability to cleave through multiple enemies rather easily.
Check out the newest trailer showing off the powerful weapon in the RPG down below. The most recent preview trailer showed off one of the more vicious bosses in the game. And since the bosses and other enemies are so tough, you’ll need all of the help you can get to overcome the challenge.
Official description of the game from Bandai Namco:
“The world as we know it is gone. At the center of the destruction lies a hidden society of Revenants called Vein. Those who remain fight for survival by acquiring Gifts of power in exchange for their memories, and an ever-increasing thirst for blood. Give into the bloodlust fully and risk becoming one of the Lost; fiendish ghouls devoid of any remaining humanity who wander aimlessly in search of blood. Team up and embark on a journey to the ends of hell to unlock your past and escape your living nightmare in Code Vein.”
And if you want to see more of the game, Bandai Namco has plenty of cool stuff to show off. Code Vein released a bunch of trailers showing off the bloody action. Here’s one, and here’s another. And if you want to take a deeper dive, take a look at this behind-the-scenes trailer.
There’s also some trailers also showing Revenants like Io, Louis, Yakumo and so many more. Each character has their own story and motivations, offering a bit of depth. The story in Code Vein centers around a bloodthirsty parasite that has ravaged humanity. Said infection has also caused horrible mutations that now stalk the land looking for prey. A special group of vampiric hunters have been created to try and tackle these threats, the Revenants, and you’re one of them.
Bandai Namco also revealed the system requirements for Code Vein. The bloody action game is coming out on September 27th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
