Nintendo has shown off some new Kirby: Star Allies gameplay in their Nintendo Minute video series.
The video itself focuses on two new levels for the video game and a boss battle against the Frozen General Francisca. The glimmer of the world map we get in the video also hints at the idea that this game may be the biggest adventure that Kirby has ever undertaken.
Each level in Kirby: Star Allies is made up of a bunch of enemies you can befriend using a new item called the Friend Heart, or you can steal your enemy’s powers like in conventional Kirby titles using his eating ability. Kirby: Star Allies has a built-in co-op mode that supports up to four players. That cooperation is key to the befriending mechanics at the center of this Kirby outing. CPU-controlled friends can take over the “frenemies” you gain if you aren’t playing co-op though. You’ll also be able to combine powers with your allies and use special attacks against enemies. You can check out the new video for yourself down below.
If you need that Kirby action as soon as possible Kirby: Star Allies is getting a digital demo on March 4th prior to release.
Kirby: Star Allies is coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch on March 16. As the first major Switch-exclusive that isn’t a port from the Wii U, Kirby: Star Allies is hopefully going to live up to the hype.
Kirby Star Allies is an upcoming platform game developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo as part of the Kirby series. It is due for release on the Nintendo Switch worldwide on 16 March 2018.
