Kingdom Hearts III Opening Cinematic released

Kingdom Hearts III TGS 2018 Gameplay and Trailers

Square Enix has released one of the last trailers before the full launch of Kingdom Hearts III, and it’s quite good. It’s the full opening cinematic for the upcoming JRPG which features lots of references, and some new music.

The music you’re hearing is a much-hyped collaboration between Skrillex and Hikaru Utada called “Face My Fears.” And while it’s a definite difference due to the obvious Dubstep influences, there’s a really nice cadence to the whole thing, and it meshes really well with the on-screen action. It’s still definitely a Kingdom Hearts opening, just a bit more technical overall.

Speaking of action, we see bits and pieces of Sora’s journey over the course of this expansive and incredible JRPG franchise. We see characters and scenes from Birth By Sleep, Kingdom Hearts, Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts II, and Dream Drop Distance. All these scenes fly in and out while a young Xehanort moves chess pieces around a board.  There’s a ton of references to different characters and moments scattered throughout this short trailer, see if you can spot them all. All in all, it’s a very poignant snapshot of the emotional growth of Sora as a character and the evolution of the story within the franchise.

Fans seem pretty excited about this game as well, the game already went “Gold” in terms of sales this past month. If you want to see more Kingdom Hearts III action, go head over and check out some of the other new content from properties like Tangled, and Ratatouille. Or maybe you just want to watch the majesty that is King Mickey in action. There’s also other franchises like Big Hero 6 and Winnie the Pooh involved in the game and it’s sprawling collection of worlds.
