Journalistic thriller ‘The Occupation’ set to release in October

The Occupation Trailer

A new game has been announced by White Paper Games, one that follows the timeline of their previous game, Ether One further down the rabbit hole of intrigue and subterfuge.

We can expect this new game to follow some of the same design paths from Ether One, with reconstructing clues and information through gameplay, but The Occupation looks to be taking things in a slightly different direction.

In The Occupation you play as a journalist, who has been given the task of hunting down leads and information about a string of mysterious deaths in the area. You’ll need to interview witnesses, take statements and track down clues as to what’s really happening, then try to survive long enough to report on the catastrophe.

Utilizing various investigative techniques will be crucial to success in the this first-person thriller, and since the games events run in real-time, you’re pitted against the clock to try and figure everything out.

The Occupation apparently takes place in 1987, depicting the horrific events leading to the creation of The Union Act, a “controversial act which threatens the civil liberties of the British population.”

The Occupation will release on October 9, 2018, on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. A limited physical run of the game in partnership with Sold Out. The Humble Store will also publish a digital version of the game. Check out the latest trailer for the game down below.
