is a Grand Theft Auto 5 Premium Edition coming?

Grand Theft Auto 5 may be getting a new “Premium” edition, according to a listing on the German Amazon website. Some eagle-eyed users on ResetEra spotted the listing earlier today.

There’s a lot of speculation as to what this new edition of the popular GTA game could include.  Some users are guessing that it’s a new version of the game with GTA Online DLC included, there’s another plausible scenario that assumes the Premium Edition is just the base game with some “Shark Cards” (GTA Online Currency) thrown in. Maybe the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro versions will get those performance and graphical improvements users are waiting for.

There’s a less believable element of the userbase that thinks this signals that a Switch port of GTA 5 is incoming. Although given the performance issues some games, like WWE 2K18, have experienced, it just seems unlikely that a Grand Theft Auto Switch port would happen.

The listing has been taken down, but that won’t stop the speculation juggernaut now. With Grand Theft Auto 5 being one of the consistently best-selling games, even four years after its release, shipping more than 90 million units.

The screenshot below shows that GTA 5 Premium Edition will reportedly be released on March 23 for PS4 and Xbox One and the four listings link to versions with different ratings (two for the Austrian and Europe rating AT-PEGI and two for USK which is the German rating).

Grand Theft Auto 5 is available now for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
