Inferno makes its return in SoulCalibur VI

SoulCalibur VI Inferno Reveal Trailer

The physical manifestation of the will of Soul Edge, Inferno, makes its return in SoulCalibur VI. Bandai Namco has unveiled a trailer and some other details about the return of Inferno to the fighting game franchise.

Fans of the older games in the franchise will know Inferno well. Inferno is the embodiment of Soul Edge’s will, the evil fusion of the souls of the warriors that it absorbed. His goals are unknown, but as he fights his way through time and space, Inferno just grows stronger. Inferno has the special ability to take on the form and abilities of fighters he faces, making him a very difficult opponent because it can be difficult to anticipate his moves since he can change between character movesets. The trailer for his reveal shows him face-to-face with various other iconic fighters from the game. We see Maxi, Yoshimitsu, Kilik, and Mitsurugi, among others. Inferno is a lightning-fast and vicious fighter, so he’s going to be a challenge.

Of course this new addition makes up the latest of a significant number of new and returning characters for SoulCalibur VI. Characters like Cervantes, Raphael and Tira have already been announced. Azwel,  the magic-fueled lunatic is joining in on the fun as well. Older characters like Astaroth are getting a new lease on life too. Ivy and Zasalamel are joining the fray as well, because everyone is just coming out of the woodwork on this one. You can check out more of the roster over here.

You could also check out some other gameplay footage of the singleplayer game, as well as as the story mode Libra of Soul.
