How to use the Ouija board in Phasmophobia

How to use the Ouija board in Phasmophobia

You need to gain evidence to solve a case in Phasmophobia. The game is all about hunting down spirits and figuring out how to send them into the great beyond. There are a variety of tools in the game that make this process easier. You need to gather evidence as part of the process, and a lot of that involves asking questions. The best way to ask questions to the ghost is the Ouija board in Phasmophobia.

Unfortunately, Ouija boards spawn randomly so you’re going to have to hunt for them. You will need to get kind of lucky to find one quickly. When you do find one, just wait for it to glow when you get near. Once that happens, you can run over and ask it questions to prompt a response from the ghost. This can be a great way to uncover information about the spirit and what they’re all about. When using the Ouija boards the ghost will respond by spelling out their answer using the planchette.

You will want to use this with some warnings though. The Ouija board can anger a spirit if used too much. To counter this, you want to keep together with the group and keep a Crucifix handy to keep the spirit tamer.

Commune with the spirits

Using the Ouija board in Phasmophobia is key to dealing with all the spooky ghosts. Players can ask them a variety of questions. Since the game has voice recognition software you can ask them anything you want. You can even invoke their name if you want to really make them mad. You can use this to your advantage to gain more intel about the ghost as well. As you uncover more information, you can also ask more targeted questions.

You will want to ask about their age, when they died, how long they have been at the location, and anything you can think up. You will need this information when trying to contain the spirit. You can also invoke more provocative questions like if the ghost has killed before.

Another type of questions to consider is location-based as well. The questions you ask can be specific to the room you’re in when asking. You could ask about a connection a spirit has to a certain room, or maybe what happened in that room. You can ask the ghost what their favorite room is as well, this could lead you to more clues.

If you notice the lights flash momentarily after asking the spirit a question on the board, there’s a good chance your sanity just plummeted. To help you out, here’s some sample questions you can use:

  • How old are you?
  • Where are you?
  • Where is your room?
  • Who did you kill?
  • Who is your victim?
  • Are you old?
  • Are you young?

Feel free to experiment and figure out what questions work best. The ghosts are all different, so things will run different each time you play.
