The Bozjan Southern Front is a large-scale battlefield that’s been added to the game. It’s meant to represent the ongoing war against the Imperial war machine. Players joining up get to take on the IVth Imperial Legion and try to reclaim some lost territory. Your efforts in this war represent the turning of the tide against a powerful new enemy, and its equally dangerous weapons. And don’t worry, you’re getting some cool new gear to compensate, the Resistance Weapons are go!
How to unlock the Bozjan Southern Front in Final Fantasy XIV
The main goal of the Bozjan Southern Front is to get players from level 71 to 80 in their main jobs. This is a laborious process but is key to the new content in the patch.
Complete the level 80 quest “Where Eagles Nest”
Complete the MSQs up to “Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty.” Then head to Rhalgr’s Reach, and finish “The Bozja Incident” and “Fire in the Forge”. Knocking these out will prepare you for the main sequence. Once you have those parts of the MSQ locked in, head over to the new area called Gangos, which is connected to the Doman Enclave.
Make your way to Gangos and speak with Marsak (X:6.4, Y:5.7). Complete the quest “Where Eagles Nest,” and you’ll unlock the Bozjan Southern Front. From there, talk to Sjeros (X:5.5, Y:5.4) as either a solo or party player. This will transfer you into an instance and give you some basic tutorials on what to do in the Southern Front.
To unlock the above-mentioned quests, you need to have made a certain amount of progress in the Stormblood main scenario. The level 70 quest Dramatis Personae is part of this. You can find this in Kugane with the NPC Keiten at X: 12.2 Y: 12.3. So in short, if you’re having trouble finding the correct quest, make MSQ progress in the Stormblood expansion to unlock the Bozja questline.
This will unlock the new Resistance Weapon questline, which has its own requirements for completion. The whole questline revolves around the idea set out by FATE encounters. Players will get to head around and gather resources, as well as take on new enemies. Players have to grind out Resistance Ranks, via completing quests for Mettle, to earn various rewards. There are also some Skirmishes that speed up the leveling process, so that’s cool. Various higher-level Skirmishes will award progress toward the new end-game content too.
The big new setpiece content for the patch centers around Castrum Lacus Litore, a new 48-man raid where groups take on a litany of bosses. Get ready for a grind, as these Critical Engagements and Raids are no joke. The top of the content ladder is locked behind certain requirements. Those wishing to take part need to be at least level 70, but Level Sync will speed things up, and lock all players at level 80 and item level 430, to balance things out.
Along with all of this, comes of course new high-end content. Players will be able to take on a new Savage raid with a new Cerberus Mount. That process is not going to be easy though, so get ready to grind the new Bozjan Southern Front in Final Fantasy XIV.
